Chic is known to many as the founder of the extremely popular and successful Summernats car festival. But he has also had an extensive career in management, including time in the Army. In 2005 Summernats was recognised as one of Canberra's great festivals, and it was estimated that it brought in a million dollars per day to the local economy. For his efforts, Chic was made an honorary ambassador to Canberra. Chic loves being an active member of the Canberra community, but is dismayed at the ever increasing cost of living, and believes that ease of living is taking a huge hit as well.
"This city has been good to me, and standing for the Legislative Assembly is one way I can give back". Said Chic. "I believe the current government has lost its way and has lost contact with the vast number of everyday Canberrans. I truly believe that experienced independents are needed in the local Assembly to restore a balance between entrenched interests. We need a new vision which is inclusive of all Canberrans"
